About the Author
Sewell was born in England into a devoutly Quaker family. Her mother was a successful author of children's books. Anna was largely educated at home. When Anna was fourteen she severely injured both of her ankles. For the rest of her life Anna was unable to stand without a crutch or to walk for any length of time. For greater mobility, she frequently used horse-drawn carriages, which contributed to her love of horses. Sewell's only published work was Black Beauty. Although it is now considered a children's classic, she originally wrote it for those who worked with horses. Sewell died five months after her book was published, living long enough to see its initial success.

This was not the full version there is a large portion of the story left out. I got this so I could read it to my daughter and I'm very disappointed so much is missing

Black Beauty cut off at the knees

I should have thought about what "young folks edition" means before downloading this. There's a lot missing from this edition, such as stories about cruelty to animals and ways to overcome it. We never find out about Beauty's accident--why did he fall down and break his knees?--and we never hear about why Jerry the cabman was forced to sell him. But to anyone who pretty much has the book memorized already, these things won't matter much.

Great author and 'been-there-done-that!'

The title had put many folks ill at ease but it reflects the diplomatic point at the time written. Really nice book for the region and accurate because I've been there and done that, too! Wish I could have met her and Dr. and Mrs. Bosch. Their books are classic in their approach and speaks volumes of their character.

His interest in vehicles began at an early age, when he saw people going about their business on small cylinder machines known as 'motorino'. This was an excellent book - well laid out and uniform for each race circuit. Each chapter had a little history of the track and drivers with a well illustrated picture of the track. The only thing the book did NOT have was information on the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin Texas (But I am giving the authors leeway because the track has only been there for a little over a year). Hopefully it will be included in the next revision of the book.
Overall I was very satisfied with this book!

I sent this back the day I opened it. Blurry photos. Binding cheaply made and arrived broken. Oh and the Valencia Circuit-one page. Yet this is what they advertise.

I gave this to my brother-in-law, an avid Formula One fan, for Christmas and he LOVED it! He was very excited to see the photos and point out which ones he's visited. I bought this book because of a review in a shelter magazine. What they failed to mention is that the photos feature modern and even minimalist decor. What about ideas for those of us who'd like to live in something a bit more cozy than a black and white interior with lots of boxes piled up for storage??? So if you're like me and looking for solutions for more traditional decor, this book may not be for you. OK, but nothing I couldn't have found on google in 10 minutes.

It's a nice enough looking book for a coffee table or shelf, but the contents are already dated and not very unique. I bought it as part of a housewarming gift for a friend; she glanced at it for about 30 seconds and then set it down and I doubt she picked it up again. It can't compete with a quick internet search for finding interesting ideas on small space design.

Lutishia Lovely is at it again with the Livingston crew in this next installment of the business series titled Taking Care of Business and that is EXACTLY what they do!!!!!

Bianca Livingston's West Coast leg of the Taste Of Soul empire which is called Taste Of Soul Tapas Style - TOSTS for short - has just finished with a very successful one year anniversary celebration when the restaurant is totally destroyed by a fire. Knowing all of the problems that has occurred with the Livingston family was this fire an accident or deliberate? In typical Livingston style, the entire family rushes to Bianca's side for support all accept her brother Jefferson.

Jefferson Livingston is still in mourning over the loss of his position to run the West Coast leg of Taste of Soul to his sister Bianca and the loss of the only woman that he has ever loved Keisha in the only way that he knows how, at the bottom of a bottle.

Chardonnay Wilson, assistant manager at Taste of Soul has not gotten over the fact that she helped the Livingston's put the man who's stolen from the Livingston Corporation behind bars only to have them renege on the reward money. Her husband Bobby, who is a chef with the corporation is looking forward to growing within the company but has some secrets that could possibly ruin those chances.

Cooper Riley, the attorney that Bianca was engaged to before leaving him to be with Xavier Marquis, is defending Quintin Bright, the man put in jail for stealing money from the Livingston Corporation and also shooting Adam Livingston is also dating Quintin's sister Keisha who helped steal the money from Jefferson and the Livingstons.

Shlya Martin, ex-marketing director for the Livingston Corporation is still upset that she didn't get what she wanted, Toussaint, but instead got forced into retirement from the Livingston Corporation with a nice severance package is still trying to figure out how to get back at the almighty family and not get in trouble for it. Joyce Witherspoon, owner of Loving Spoonful event planning business is trying to recover from not being able to snag one of the Livingston men but through her business sense and her beauty, she will make another attempt with this soul-food dynasty.

Then there is the head of the Livingston clan, Marcus and Marietta Livingston, who are retired from the business but not from the family and the family IS the business. Marietta with her way of feeling/predicting something is going awry within the family keeps close ties to the kids and grandkids in a way that they still don't understand. Marcus is such a strong man of seventy-five but doesn't want to be left out of the loop when it comes to problems that may arise because he can still help and is more than willing to do so.

Taking Care of Business is the third book in the business series by Lutishia Lovely and this book once again had me on the edge of my seat and talking with and to the characters. I absolutely love the way that while you are reading this book, you can feel like you are right there with the Livingstons and you want to help and give hugs where needed. That is the sign of a writer who is in tune with her readers because we go right along with the family on the ride of their lives. The first book is All Up In My Business and the second book is Mind Your Own Business so if you haven't already gotten them, get all three TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! KUDOS to you Lutishia, you have done it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just When You Think It's Over.....

The Livingston Family returns in Taking Care of Business by Lutishia Lovely and the story begins with a bang. Bianca is preparing for the first anniversary of a Taste of Soul Tapas Style or TOTS restaurant; when her grandmother, Marietta, has a premonition that something is wrong. Once tragedy hits, the Livingston's travel to Los Angeles to tackle their latest problem, with the exception of Jefferson. Still feeling bitter about losing the West coast restaurant to Bianca and revelations about Divine, Jefferson has been missing meetings and avoiding the family. In the meantime, the families' enemies, Shyla, Quintin, and Keisha, were plotting revenge.

Whew... is all I can say. Nobody can write drama like Lutishia Lovely. This story will have you shaking your head, laughing, and crying. Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, Lovely adds another twist. Once all the dust settles and the drama ends, readers will be thoroughly satisfied with its ending. I enjoyed this series.

Should be a mini series!!!!

Taking Care of Business is the third book in the business series. I have patiently waited a year for the book to be released. The whole series should be a mini series. These books are so great and have so much drama, excitement and suspense. I practically took off work to read this book because I did not want any distractions. Lutishia Lovely is an author where I don't have to even read the synopsis of the books I know it will be a great story. I hope this series get chosen for a screenplay or movie because it certaintly should be on the big screen! Great Job!!!!!!

Kim Flottum brings a background of twelve years of plant science, honey bee research, �and basic farming to his thirty years as the editor of�Bee Culture�magazine where his main occupation is finding the answers to the multitude of questions that beginning, intermediate, and even advanced and experienced beekeepers bring to the table. As a Newbee beek last Spring ('14), I received this as a gift & I just love it. It's very helpful for keeping my hive journal & is filled w/ lots of helpful info, tidbits, recipes, etc. I've met Kim Flottum & this journal is written the way he speaks. Information that is easy to understand.
